Coil Tap Humbucker With Blend Pot - Possible?

Hi all. This is my first post and I know nothing about electronics.

Question:- Take a bass with a single coil at the neck position and a (e.g)musicman humbucker at the bridge. Is it possible to coil tap the humbucker using a push/pull blend pot in that when the pot is at it's normal position the humbucker works as normal. When you switch the pot to tap/split mode, is it possible to blend the amount of each coil into the signal. i.e. when the pot is turned fully anti-clockwise you get the back coil of the humbucker coming through, fully clockwise lets the front coil come through, and up the middle gives an even mix of both, and other positions give varying mixes of both?
This signal (I think?) would then go to the main pickup blend pot on the bass (the one that mixes the front and back pickups).

Like I stated, I know nothing whatsoever about electronics and have no idea if this is possible or if it would sound any good.

That's a coil split, not a tap.

If you can find a blend pot with a push/pull, and those are quite rare, you could wire the switch as a simple series/parallel, but in series mode, the blend pot will attenuate the signal if you adjust it.
It would be preferable to use a 3PDT mini toggle switch to bypass the blend when the coils are in series.

Having a blend pot for the coils of one pickup probably isn't going to be useful. I suppose the effect of switching from north to south coil would be more pronounced when combining with another pickup, but when soloing the pickup, it won't make very much difference. Most people would be more happy with a series/single coil/parallel switch.

Thanks for that. It was the blending with the neck pickup I had in mind.
I know that there wouldn't be that much of a difference in tone between the coils but it was just an idea I had when thinking about a custom build.
