college audio classes

If this is in the wrong forum sorry.....I will continue my music program in college again this coming fall, (I don't know why the classes are so far apart) and instead of waiting I thought I would take some classes in the Summer or Spring to enhance my non-existant knowledge of how to set up a PA system etc. To that extent what classes should I enroll in? They have a Music Technology and sound engineering program.

That's great that you have the freedom to sign up for these classes... good luck! If there is anything specific you need to know, like how to set up a PA, my first instinct would be to go on YouTube and watch someone do it.

It is accredited? Can you get certified?
Volunteer to assist running sound at some shows or musicals. You can learn a lot just by watching a pro, but sometimes they like that you're serious and trying to get some certification.

Learning how to set up a PA is probably a good idea. You can possibly get a few gigs as a roadie after and move up in the audio world.
