Collisions

It's not a bass, it's a guitar (I'M SORRY, OK?).... I have a strat clone built by a very good friend of mine. It was my first good guitar. In college, my band was playing an outdoor festival. We went on after a solo acoustic guitarist. We'd finished setup, and I left my guitar in the case on stage with the case closed but not latched.

During the solo acoustic set, a completely spaced out guy gets up on stage with the solo act and looks around confused. Solo act was playing "Brown Eyed Girl". Solo act, trying to handle the situation, invites the guy to sing a verse with him. Confused dude (later confirmed to be on an acid trip by his frat brothers) proceeds to scream a portion of "Stairway to Heaven" into the mic, then notices the police moving towards the stage.

Guy turns to run off the back of the stage and somehow kicks my guitar case about 30 feet. Guitar comes out of the case in midair, cartwheels and lands flat on the ground on the far side. The only damage were a couple small marks on the bottom edge where the guitar came to rest on a tree root.

This is my '64 Pbass. As you can see, it's got some stories from its 50 years. It's 100% original, and plays incredibly.

OMG I cannot tell you how similar this is to my '64 Precision.

It's uncanny.

I think the first ding is the worst!

I left a '76 P on a chair. It fell off and landed on the strap buckle and made a 3 mm deep gash on the back. My fault.

I have a Godin A4 fretless - that one day was pristine and the next day had a huge dent in the front - absolutely ruining the completely flat perfect wood finish. It was one of my daughters but to this day no-one has confessed.

Maybe on my deathbed they'll tell me.

Or maybe they don't hehe

I knew a young music shop salesman who was in the loudest band I EVER heard, truely horrible, he totally abused his bass, threw it on the floor and jumped on it, during the gig!

totally no respect, I guess coz he was getting them at cost or better hehe

Me? I cry if I see a fingerprint on my new MIA P lol

I recently dinged a new Fodera on my singer's terrible Fender Bronco solid state guitar combo on a recent gig.

Must be karma as I was bitching to the my drummer and lead guitarist how I thought the Fender amp was "the biggest P.O.S. amp I had ever heard" and that I wanted to "run it over with my truck" about 10 minutes earlier.
