Combine 2 Jazz Pickups As One ??

Hi dudes,
I have a bass that has a double jazz pickup in the Bridge position.But the sound is not the best lacking in punch & has a low output.
I want to buy 2 good quality jazz pickups then glue & wire them as one pickup because im finding it hard to find a double jazz pickup. BTW it should be a perfect fit.
Can this done, my bass has a jazz pickup but its double the size of a standard Jazz p/u ?? I dont know if its two wired together or just an oversized Jazz but the level is low & pretty dull sounding.The P-pickup is great !!
I want to know if i can wire 2 Jazz p/u to the preamp as one ?:help:

Just take two jazz pickups, insulate them so the copper coils don't touch, then put them in the cover you have in your bass. Treat the four leads like you would any humbucker and wire accordingly. Granted, I'm no luthier or guitar electronics expert, but that seems to be the general idea behind humbuckers (the very, very general idea.) Though I'm sure you're going to have some issues with the sound by using two pickups designed to be placed in certain locations (and wound with that in mind) and placing them elsewhere.

Before you do that, though, check the wiring on the pickup and make sure it's wired in series using both coils. I had a bass with a humbucker that had one pickup wired as a single coil, and it sounded weak.

My Curtis Novak, made of a tapped full size coil and a half sized coil for single coil or series humbucking with an appropriate output level.

The cover is two Jazz bass pickup covers glued together.

This sounds great to me.I can use the existing p/u cover that ive already got & put 2 new jazz pickups in it. Il try to go & find specific bridge pickups & not a jazz neck p/u.They will both have to be Jazz bridge pickups, if this is possible ?

O.k just had a surf around Ebay & there is a guy in the U.S selling these size pickups.
They are oiriganl Fender special design humbuckers made for the American Deluxe basses.This would be better than the stock p/u thats in my bass (i think).
Can i still use the original p/u cover that ive already got & put this new p/u in the cover ??
