Combine Two AMPEG BA-210 V2 Combos

I recently bought an Ampeg BA-210 V2 (used). I've been looking for a second (Ampeg, 8 ohm) cab to add to it and I have come to the conclusion my best bet might be to "slave" a second BA-210. If one breaks I still have the other. My question is, what would be the best way to connect these two combos together? Using an instrument cable(?) go from "send" on one to "return" of the other? Would the amp in the second cab come into play or does the second cab just become a passive slave to the first? These combos are 283W standalone (8 ohm), 450W when adding an 8 ohm cab (4 ohm). Thanks in advance !!!!

simply use an ABY pedal . guitar to ABY to split signal. it can be powered to avoid signal loss.. a bit more money ( 100 cdn) and it will keep both signals in phase as they hit the amplifiers...even more full sounds if amps are different models set up to fill deficiencies in the other.

nashman, if you look a few weeks back in thr Combo Club, we have a member who exactly what you're talking about. He bought two combos and described what his plans were for them. Start in early December and look for his pictures. Also, ask any questions you want and someone will be there to answer them.

Remember correctly it was 2x 115v2 combos. There was also a separate thread in the "amp and cabs" forum on it in that time frame

I haven't tried the Ampeg BA slave rig, but I have with 2 Rumbles. I found it to be fuller, richer (and yes louder.) pretty great option IMHO if you wanna leave 2 combos in 2 places (say, home and a rehearsal space) and only haul them both out occasionally.

IIRC @Aaron Houts recently got a 2x BA115 rig...

Sorry about the slow response. Returning to work has had me running so I haven't been on TB as much this past week or so, but my friends above ^ are right and have helped me quite a bit with this.

Oh-I just used a regular instrument cable.

Definitely an option. I looked at those. Maybe a used one. This cab sells for $630 new plus 13% tax in Canada, not much less that a BA-210V2 which has a second amplifier.

Because we aren't talking about amp to speaker cab. We are talking about going from one amp's preamp out (send) to another amp's power amp in (return).

You know, with that, you probably are right in just getting another combo. That way, if one ends up going down, you've got a back up, and its already on stage, and plugged in.
