combo amp for 400-500 dollars

Hey
Im looking for a bass combo amp for 400-500. possibly a little high. I have a 5 string bass and i play everything from metal to jazz. All i really do is jam with friends but i need something that will pack it out and the low end is important.
suggestions?

I've seen some very powerful used Nemesis combos around lately that are right in your price range. They come in 2x10, 2x12, and 1x15 models and will power an extension cab, too.

I'm also a fan of Genz-Benz gear and even their M-Line combos are rather healthy.

I have not played one of these but they always get great reviews. check out the reviews on Harmony Central. Lots of power and very versatile. I would think that this would be just what you need.
