comping 5string parts on a 4

Do you guys think it's wort doing something like this if you have the intention of getting a 5 in the future?

I ask since it's strange to be used to playing a part one way, as opposed to how it's written when you have access to a 5.

Ex: (other than those 4 octave runs) I can play Just Let Me Breathe by Dream Theater on a 4, but on a 5 my first reaction is to continue playing the low D on the E as if itwas drop tuned, and the low Bs on the A as up on octave. Basically the whole 'old habits are hard to break' cliche.

Thoughts?

It's cool, but there's nothing like that nasty Low B! It's even better doing 4 string parts on a 5 using that low B rather an open E, it's just a deeper tone and usually makes the finger action easier, not to mention built in drop D tuning. You could also tune a 4 BEAD but I am very happy I got a 5er!
