Conklin Rocco P Edition

I bought one of these a few years ago and like a DUMMY, I sold it. TBer JBFLA remembered a post I made about wanting to aquire another one. :)

A quick trip down to Okeechobie Florida and once again, I feel complete ;)

I gave it new set of Low Riders and a quick adjustment to my liking and I couldn't be happier. I'm not a real Bart fan but for some reason they just sound GREAT on this bass :bassist:
This bass just does everything perfect, IMHO. The neck and everything about the bass fits and suits my perfectly. The Korean build quality is absolutely FLAWLESS.

Thanks again Jim!!!

Very nice, is the P pickup closer to the neck? How does that sound in comparison to a regularly positioned P ?

The P pup is reversed and the J pup is angled. It sounds different and has a more broad tonal range than my other standard P/J basses. It's hard to tell exactly what makes the difference. The preamp in this thing is quite powerfull as well. It thumps, it growls and has great slap tone with the Low Riders.

Nice one, Neil!
You've been racking up some sweet basses lately. We need a family portrait!

Dave,

I have about 12-14 basses including 2-3 projects in process. For every bass that arrives, one must go. I've pretty much found "my" sound so I'm cutting back on the wheeling and dealing. Also, no more projects!!! I'm going to try to limit myself to 1 nice bass per year, maybe something real high end. I'll be in Atlanta in June for a knife show so I might drop a few bucks at the Atlanta Bass Gallery :)
