I was wondering about the low drone stuff, lo and behold it’s a return of Taurus Pedals(or similar), as opposed to a Game Changer Plus or EHX SuperEgo/Freeze, plus that guitar was a trip…not that many guitarists exploring fretless.
Thanks for tipping me/us off about those guys. They’ve been around for a while, who knew? I’ve been going down their website and video rabbit hole, they do so much else as well.
Aside from being a decades long King Crimson freakout fan(you would have to be), I’m all about outfits like Animals As Leaders, Black Midi, Ava Mendoza, and so on…not 100% on Polyphia, but they’re interesting. And the CTS bass foot pedals, turns out to be a new generation Moog Taurus. There’s a Rush-ish duo called Crown Lands that employs one also.
Logistics and scheduling have prevented me. I live in the high desert, up above Palm Springs, which is at least two hours away from LA. Who I’d line to catch, if I can work out the details, is Mdou Moctar, one of the newer Sahara/North Africa guitar bands. With their new album Funeral For Justice, they’ve taken on a bit of a metal edge…
