considering 2x12

current setup is an svt cl into an avatar 4x10. for sometime i was just going to go with a fridge, because i know what they are capable of. but i really dont feel like moving it.
so after some research i found the avatar 2x12. price is right and reviews are excellent. i would be pairing this with my 4x10.

my question is, if i am splitting the power of my amp between 2 cabs, how much will it effect my overall tone out of the 4x10?

is anyone on her eusing a setup similar to this and how do you like it?

the 2x12 tends to have more midbass and less bottom and thus seems louder and cuts through a little better than the 4x10. that's all i can give you.

but i am still planning on keeping the 4x10
and just running both cabs

then you'll probably get the best of both worlds: solid lows and cutting mids.

don't get me wrong, the 2x12 still has plenty of lows, just not as noticeable because of it's voicing.

i think you'll have a smashing setup

will splitting the power from my amp between 2 cabs effect the tone coming out of either one? im not really sure what im trying to ask really. i jsut know that using 2 cabs and one amp sends half the power to one and half to the other one. will this effect my tone?
will i need to increae volume?

i keep my master cranked almost all the way and my gain hovers around 3 or 4.

Well actually this depends upon how many Ohms the cab is.

I think you might be asking if there a way to change the mix level of the two cabs?

Like if you want to have the the 212 stand out/ be turned up a bit more than the 410?

as far as bi amping i wouldnt know if i did.
i believe this means running 2 cabs but with the same power, if so, no i dont.

Bridging would take the available power, based on ohm load, and split it equally between the cabs.

If you biamp, you would have (usually) two different outputs for cabs and many amps would have a dedicated volume knob for each output.

if both cabs are the same impedence, the same amount of power will theoretically goto each cab. their loudness depends on the sensitivity of the speakers, cab design, and speaker area and excursion.

basically, you should hear both fine and will retain the tone from both.
