ssoo the skinny is that im looking at getting a giggable rig, and probably about 400 watts of power or there about. For a while was set on going combo. clean. simple. affordable.
Like a lot of folks I'm trying to get a good bang for my buck and was looking at the gear i have aquired over the last couple years to see what i could part with to help justify dropping more money on gear.
I do have a QSC 1200 Power amp ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) that i use for a modest PA setup that i have (very modest, for practice and such). So i was thinking that perhaps i could incorporate this into some kind of bass rack unit. get a preamp, rack and cab and call it a day.
just wondering if there is something that im over looking that a power amp should have in order to be useful in this kind of setup. and am i really saving any money going this route over a 400-600 watt combo, even after i already have the power amp? The idea of piecing the rig together is a plus to me as well, more flexiblilty, if you don't like one thing you dont have to replace the whole unit.
