Convert am std to 63 p

so.. I was wondering, aside from swapping out the pickup, what could I do to get my am std to convert to a av63?
I'm not too worried about changing out the neck or the frets, more think whether I'd change the pots etc..
Or is it a waste of time/ money?
Thoughts?

Here are the differences that come to my mind within 10 seconds:
- neck
- tuners
- body lacquer
- PUs

It is pretty much a different bass, so yes, waste of time.
Why would you want to do this?

Different nut width too.

Sell the Am St and buy a 63. I see absolutely no sense in the conversion...

If you're just talking appearance, just buy the bridge and pickup covers.

Otherwise, it's a different bass. Almost nothing is the same (except, maybe, the pots...).

I have toyed with the idea of a gold guard, on my American Standard Precision and thumbrest.

If you are ok with the neck and frets, then youd only need the tuners and the bridge (and pup). I think that would get you 98% there soundwise. The neck will never feel the same , but you could always make it thinner front to back for a real 60s b neck feel ( which was a real option).
