Converting a 4 string bass to 5?

I think the way that Ric5 does the conversion is really neat. I must admit, the Fenderbird has since donated the converted 5 string neck to a four string Jazz bass body I had, so now I have a five string Jazz bass. I have several four string jazzes but since I switched to a five they dont ever get played. Converting it to a five string is a good way to get that bass some use again. The converted P bas neck that was used for the conversion has basically the same neck width at the nut as my Carvin B5, so the string spacing is very familiar to me. Maybe a mm or so tighter but not really noticeable.

Ric5 - the Fenderbird will rise again. If I cant find a suitable P neck and do a 4 to 5 conversion myself, I've got a four string jazz neck I'll put on there and rock on with it....

Also if you want to sell the fenderbird body let me know. I have an idea for a frankensteined bass and that body would be perfect.

I did this to an old squier P bass, and the Musicman style bridge from Bass Parts Resource worked perfectly.

ric, could you post the model numbers of the bridge that you like the most for this conversion? If I don't do this conversion I'm just going to sell it so it doesn't keep tormenting me.
