cool band names actually used by bands

My three favorites would have to be:

Zoro And The Blue Footballs (KC area, circa 70s/80s)

and

The Well Hungarians (Nashville, current)

and

The Hoosier Daddies (some Indiana transplants, mostly session guys, who did occasional live dates in the 80s/90s)

@Snarf did you mean the little unknown German band Stunning Cunts?

I like "Breschdleng", it's Swabian-German for Strawberry and almost nobody
knows what it means in every other part of Germany, they play hardcore
with German lyrics about their hometown and stuff.

There's some 'R' rated names like

Anal C*nt and Nashville Pussy

One of the 'hair' bands from the 80s, maybe they're still around:

Lixx Array

Well, it's not that great of a name, it's just play on guitar licks or something...bleh.

From the early days of punk/new wave:

The Slits
The Clash
Generation X
X
Stiff Little Fingers
X Ray Spex

I always liked "& The" names:

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
Little Anthony & The Imperials
Ronny & The Daytonas
Flash & The Pan
Phil 'n' the Blanks
Richard Hell & The Voidoids
Wayne (later Jayne) County & The Electric Chairs
James Brown & The Famous Flames
Holly & The Italians
Root Boy Slim & The Sex Change Band

I also think The Rolling Stones is a great, great name.
