Victor Wooten strikes me as a truly good guy, but he is human. I suspect the interaction between him and Phillenganes was not pleasant. In life, some things just stick with you.

Victor is a really good guy. He’s a great ambassador for bass players and he truly goes overboard to share his knowledge, techniques and experiences with younger players especially.

It was unnecessary to the story for Victor to mention Greg Phillinganes by name. I suspect if he had his time over he wouldn’t. The whole thing just sounded like a whole lot of self-promotion to me …

There was a very obvious edit to the video where that story was spliced in, I suspect he was specifically asked if there was anyone who wasn’t supportive.
