Which was your favorite theme?

Peter Gunn is my top choice. A Henry Mancini classic.

Followed by Mission Impossible. The only one I can think of in 5/4 time. Lilo Shiffren (apologies if my spelling is off) got the credit for it.

Well, maybe so far no one thought of it as 'coolest'. Even though Les put that together, it's not particularly bass-centric or even bass prominent. The banjo and fiddle stand out. Goofy, yes, perhaps even most amusing, but 'Barney Miller' and 'Mission Impossible', mentioned countless times, would be the go-to choice of many bass players. Of course, we could mention Token, and what's in his basement, but I don't think that fits in to the conversation.

I think it is the original, and noticed that bridge pickup tone too. Maybe we could not hear the True Tone so much through the TV speakers?

Barney Miller will always be my favorite. Streetbeater/Sanford and Son is great, as is Peter Gunn. But Barney Miller is the one I like to play when somebody in the band is dwadling and holding up the show.
