I tried out a 5 years old Cort T35 (5 string) bass at a friends place and I was completely blown away by the looks, the amazing sound, the low action and the playability of the instrument. Even more amazing the fact that it's been forgotten for nearly 3 years in an attic and it played great just a few hours after being found, with just a quick tuning.
As I'm not (or wasn't...) into 5 strings, I facilitated my friend sell the bass to another friend for literally 200e. But the experience compelled me to buy a Cort bass, so I quickly went for a new Cort C4 Artisan, as it seemed like it had all the great qualities (and more) I found on the older T35.
I got the C4 delivered last week and unfortunately I found the overall quality of the item "good on paper" but disappointing in the final results.
After two half days spent in setting it up at to a low action, in the hope of making it as easy to play as its older brother, I've been completely put off by a few main issues like:
Have any of you experienced or heard of anything similar when considering freshly new Corts versus 5 years older Corts?
I have already begun the return procedure for my C4 and I already made peace with the let down. Maybe someone else is finding himself in my same shoes.
My question is for personal and I hope mutual interest among us bass players.

- A string not sounding as loud as the other strings
- Constant background buzzing of the gear when playing the C string
- Neck sliglty bowing after just 20/30 minutes of playing and creating fret buzzing around the 5th to 8th frets on C, 10th to 13th frets on A (I seriously did up to 3 setups within 1 hour)
- A couple of cranky saddles hardly moving away from the nut during loosening
- Cranky pickups that don't move smoothly when adjusted in height but audibly "pop" up and down
- Overall feeling (but also measurable instances) of unstable of action and intonation during playing
