Cort C4 Plus or Ibanez SR300E

Hi all,

I am looking to buy my first bass guitar. I play the electric guitar fairly well and was looking to try my hand at the Bass. I have a budget of around 400 USD and have seen good reviews of the Ibanez SR300E. I checked with my local music store and unfortunately they do not have the Ibanez bass in stock but they recommended the Cort C4 Plus instead. The Cort C4 Plus also seems to have good reviews online so I am a little confused on which to go for as I cannot try out the Ibanez bass and can only buy it online.

Can someone please share their thoughts and recommendations based on looking at the specs of both these models?

Thank you.

Both are nice, but I experience the unstable neck on new bought 2018 SR300E even just minor temperature change.
Suggest SR500 which has better stable neck.

I also own Cort Arona IV and Cort B5 plus previously. The maple neck on Arona has same neck issue as SR300E but less worst. The Cort B5 plus neck absolutely as nice as ibby SR500 neck.

Hope help

Yes I would have preferred to go to the store and try them both but unfortunately I cant do that since they dont the Ibanez.

What about the electronics? I know the Cort has the MK1 pickups and the Ibanez has the PowerSpan pickups. Is one better than the other?

The Cort B5 plus come with Bart MK1 and Markbass onboard preamp, punchy tone but a bit dry and life less ; meanwhile the Powerspan + flexible onboard preamp could create vary of bass tone , and sound much better than Bart MK1 pup to me.
