corvette standard ash

i went to gc today and found a older model Warwick corvette ash standard on sale for under 500 bucs! i played it and loved it but i have a few questions, i ran the serial number and its an 07 would this be a german made bass? also the bass is passive and eventually i might want to go active, do regular jazz style pickups fit it?

Thanks for the help guys

That is a monster deal! I would love to have an Ash 'vette, my favorite Warwick body. If could find one, I would leave it passive (purely personal preference) and load it up with really great true singles, like Dimarzio Model J's or Nordy's. I would think that making this bass active would be a real pain, since you would have to someone do a lot of routing for the battery cavity.

i just trade my corvette for a stingray so i could tell you little bit about the warwick corvette.

The 2010 model will be made in korea. anything before that will still be german.

Also in term of jazz pickup, normal jazz pickup do fit in the warwick without problem. i have delano, emg and mec fit on the bass without mod so is all good.

Most likely the vette is passive the one you see in the shop but you can always install a preamp if you wish to.

If you like the warwick sound, body etc then grab that deal if you can.
