Could you recommend some good walking shoes?

I'd start with Brooks and New Balance, then check out On and Hoka. Altra makes some good quality walking shoes as well if you like more than the usual amount of room in the 'toe box'.
Good socks were mentioned earlier, which is solid advice. About three years ago I switched out to only merino wool socks. One of the better choices I've made in my life.

I’ve been wearing Bombas for my exercise socks with good results.

I walk 3-4 miles a day, mostly concrete or asphalt, but occasionally gravel trails. Mid-high Keen for the win. They last a LONG time and are very comfortable for me. I’m talking models in the $130-$150 neighborhood.

A similar $65 pair of Cabella’s house brand (Red Head?) shoes look great and are comfortable but they always fall apart pretty quickly. The soles wear out in no time, followed by the uppers. Not so Keen.

I used to be big on New Balance but don’t know what they’re like now.

I've been using Merrells for years with great results, but I'm currently in a pair of Skechers I got as a Christmas gift. It's been an adjustment to flat bottomed shoes with soles that spread wider than the shoes themselves after walking for so many years on the narrow softer edged soles of the Merrells.
