Since you mentioned Judas Priest (one of my favorite bands), I nominate "The Green Manalishi (With the Two-Pronged Crown)" . The live version is better than the studio version and both are better than the original Fleetwood Mac (and that was even before Stevie ruined the band)
I didn't even listen to the Grateful Dead until I found out that Sublimes Scarlet Bagonias was one of thiers. I love the Dead now, but still like the Sublime version better. Same for smoke two joints.

The Dave Edmunds cover of "I Hear You Knocking" rocks more than the original version by Smiley Lewis.
I love Dave Edmunds, and his version does have more of a rock edge than the original. But I prefer Smiley Lewis' good old N'awlins rhythm, with his blues edge. They're both cool, imo.
