Crackling bass cabinet - need advice

I run a 410/horn Fender cabinet off a Carvin 600w redeye combo.
Recently I started getting crackling noises thru the 4 10s especially at higher frequencies. The speakers were recently reconed and are in good shape. I disconnected the high freq horn and the speakers still crackle. The speakers in the Carvin combo are clean as whistle.
I am suspecting a capacitor has gone bad in the crossover however I discovered that when I tilt the 410 cabinet at a 90 angle and run the speaker face up towards the sky- the crackling stops and tone is clean. Seems like a bad crossover circuit would be bad no matter how the speakers are pointed. Thinking about bi-passing the crossover altogether and wiring a jack just using the 410s to see if the crackling subsides. Its an 8ohm cabinet (8ohm speakers in series/parallel) Any one have any thoughts on the crackling issue ?

If tilting the cab corrects your crackling noise, I'd guess something is loose inside and simply rattling. (make sure your speaker screws are all tight too)

If your cabs horn uses a crossover, Its usualy a very good idea to bypass or wire the remaining speakers around the crossover anytime the horn is disconnected.
