Crashing Chrome on IOS?

Does anybody else find that if they're accesing TB using the Chrome browser on an iPad, that it will often crash when you are typing a post or reply?

It does it if you want to change anything as you're typing on the touchscreen keyboard...if you touch the screen to put the cursor at the point you want to edit, the browser will often crash and you'll lose everything you just typed.

It only does it on TB. Is this a known forum bug or is it just me?

I have the same not with TB in particular but with other regular websites (CNN, msnbc, usatoday...) and it crashes now much more often than it did before. Often, when I download a page it crashes and sometimes several times in a row on the same page to the point that I abandon reading.

I have one of the very first iPad (first generation) and do not know what the problem is or how to solve it. It only started reacting like this a year or so ago.

I believe I have Safari as browser...

Any Apple software engineers here?

Chrome doesn't seem to handle Java well. I fixed my own crashes with Chrome by disabling their baked in java, and enabling only the real thing.
