Creating parts in the studio

Hey, Lee! Wanted to ask if you could elaborate on your process of coming up with parts during a typical session. Do you have any particular go-to approach, musically or gear-wise? Thanks in advance!

Really no....I listen to the song at hand and sort of let it tell me what it wants. I am pretty instinctive and usually find a part pretty quick. I always tell the people I work for that my ideas are etched in mud. Happy to try something else if they are not happy. So many times we have to nail songs in a few takes so being fast and right, for the moment, is critical. Rarely do I play a part the same way twice.
