Crossover Recommendation please:
I just aquired a Roland DB500 bass speaker cabinet (amp section removed). It has a 12” woofer and a Fostex/foster 025H27 tweeter. Because the amp section was removed I need a crossover to hook up the tweeter. Also I want to be able to switch off the tweeter when needed. Would a high-pass or 2-way crossover be preferred. Also what about frequency-3.5K or 5K? Any specific brands,. Anything else I should know?
I’m trying to keep costs down, If I could afford it I would have bought an Avatar cab.

If you want to keep the costs low, you can manage with one bipolar capacitor, the two 12's don't need to be crossed over.

What value capacitor should be used to crossover at around 3.5K?
Is amp wattage a factor here? (using about 150 Watts into 8ohms )

Parts Express or BLT sound sell Eminence crossovers.I've found the 3500hz high pass crossover works very well with Foster horns.They run a little over $20 and have pretty good horn protection.

Carvin's crossover for 210 and 410 cabs is good if you also desire the Speakons and so on.
