CuBase LE and US-122L help

I'm a recording noob. I bought this unit on the weekend, and am running XP. I'm having some trouble getting CuBase to record, although the level meter is showing a good signal. The "manual" that ships with the unit is *woefully* inadequate - are there any good and useful free resources out there to hel me understand CuBase LE?

That was my first recording rig and I do have some screenshots but not enough time to post them up.

In LE itself go to help and there is a .pdf of the Cubase manual.

Will post that stuff later tonight.

Create a new project, then a new raw audio track, and hit record. If nothing shows, make sure you select the driver in the options panel.

These were my settings...

Actual recording happening...Gotta watch that red and yellow on the record/monitor under "audio 1 in the upper left.

My "First screen" doesn't look anything like that after I start a new project and add a track.

Does anyone know of a helpful article online that will explain all the features in detail?
