Cubase SX3 problems...

Hey guys,

I'm trying to record my bass (direct in or using xlr from compression pedal) so I installed cubase sx. I got an error saying major problem, try saving, restart cubase whatever. Got it again AND an error saying lost connection to sound card.

So I decided to reinstall cubase...same shiz. Used my friends cubase cd, same shiz...then I updated cubase to 3.11 and same shiz, and then when I tried opening a new project it crashed.

I messed with reseting the audio settings, etc...nothing works.

Any advice? I just wanted a half decent recording of my bass maybe using some amp sims or something...

Check the cubase forums online, from the Steinberg site. You will need to be very specific about your system specs and error messages. Most issues like this can be worked out with time.

Cubase is pants. Our band has had loads of issues trying to get the software to record properly. One work around was to turn off playback options during recording in the preference settings. That way, Cubase only needs to concentrate on recording and not playback too.... pain in the butt I know, but it might work.
