Curious about Eastwood basses

Hey! I recently got a Jack Cassidy on a whim, but I have really wanted to find a five string hollowbody type bass. I know Warwick makes the starbass, but refuses have said that the pick ups make it sound very modern am looking for something kind of vintage sounding.

Has anybody owned or played one of these?

I have a Classic 4. If I recollect correctly, Eastwood is a Canadian company, and my bass says ‘Made in China’. The build is pretty good, and it gets a variety of sounds. No problem with the neck; there is a truss rod.
I bought it to try to get a thumpy kind of sound for Salsa, after seeing a bass that Bobby Valentin uses. This may be modeled after a Gretsch, used for country music perhaps, but it doesn’t really have a vintage look or feel. It had a very inexpensive price over a decade ago.

Paul D'Mour of Tool used an Ovation Magnum and Rickenbacker 4003 on the recordings of Opiate and Undertow. The bass tones on these recordings are in my humble opinion... the most badass bass tracks ever recorded. I don't say this lightly.

I bought an Eastwood Magnum copy of the Ovation. Very nice bass with a very unique sound. Also quite versatile with a "mellow" deep tone when the neck humbucker is solo'ed. The magic though is the single coil bridge pickup that provides the growl and zing of Tool and Sonic Youth tracks from late 80's, early 90's. Most people think it's ugly... but it's beautiful to me. Hell... I have a Squire Antigua P bass... so I have no shame, obviously.

i prepped an eastwood univox for a repaint about a month ago and all i can say is this
that bass was the heaviest bass i have ever worked with, more weight than an ash bacchus more than an old stingray
not sure if this is standard, but just be aware
