    Hello i would like to know the name of the bassist playing on "victory" of Curtis Mayfield. Thanks.

    Not sure...
    Will only add there's a great clip of Mayfield & band(& bassist) doing "We Gotta Have Peace" on the Old Grey Whistle Test DVD.

    that would most likely be phil upchurch,who is mostly known as a guitarist but did much session work on bass in the 60's and 70's

    That's cool, I didn't know he ever played with Curtis Mayfield. I do dig his bass work that I've heard, with blues guys like Buddy Guy--he's got nice feel and nice tone, too.

    I love Upchurch's guitar playing...great rhythm guitar playing on Benson's Bad Benson album.
