He was a great bass player, I remember it well, I was about 19 when this was all over the radio. Fender Jazz with flatwounds.

Oh yeah, his sound can even come out of little speakers and it was noticed by most bassists right away the first time they heard him play this stuff, this album was huge anyway, all over the radio, Super fly, Freddie's dead, this is the one that I really liked, this bass line.



I actually had someone dare me to see if I could play the bassline at about 2:40 about 5 years ago, I killed it
