I have been working on a custom build for some time, and now I have begun to start considering pickups for the project. I don't know exactly what I want to go with, and would like some suggestions.
I tend to prefer the P-Bass sound, and I have a G&L L-1000, which many say is a P-Bass on roids. I love the tone with all 3 of the switching options, but I especially like the middle selection, which is the single coil (no bass boost).
My initial thought was going with Nordy Big Splits as their description says its similar to a P/J sound, and I would have 3 way switch since I like the P-bass, I feel like this would give me some versatility to do either a P sound or a J sound. Or I could put the NP4A in the neck position with the Split in the bridge position, does anyone have input on how similar the NP4A and the Big Split Neck pickup might be? Now Nordy has the ZenBlades with a ceramic magnet, I've listened to some videos and they sound pretty decent to me, and though I know its different from a G&L MFD I feel like they might have some similarities there.
As for Pots I was thinking about using 250k's linear taper for vol and audio taper for tone. Ideas folks?

Maple neck with an ebony fingerboard
Ebony veneer on the head stock
Granadillo Body (I guess its similar to cocobolo)
