Custom Replacement Necks?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations for a replacement neck. I have a Squier Jag SS, and the neck shape is not working for me. What I want to find is a replacement neck that is like a stingray neck.

I know this is almost certainly not an off the shelf item, thus the real questions boil down to good luthiers that will build just a neck. Anyone have any good experiences with having a fully custom neck made?

thank you

If you are here in the US, I can recommend my friend Keith Horne. We're both in the Los Angeles, CA area. I no longer do one-off custom necks at the retail level, but I supply machined neck structures to other Luthiers around this area. Keith is one of my regular customers. We can make a custom neck to any dimensions or configuration that you need.

Look through the Fender Performer Build thread in the main Basses section. Keith and I are helping that customer put together a custom 32" scale semi-replica of a Fender Performer. I posted a sequence of pictures on that thread showing my process of building the structure of the neck for that bass. Now it's at Keith's shop, where he'll be doing the shaping, trimming, fretwork, etc.

Keith can be reached at: keithhorne1 at gmail com I won't quote you directly; you have to go through him.

Thank you Bruce, I appreciate the response. I've dropped a note to Keith.

I took at look at the performer thread, some great stuff. I have serious GAS for that bass, especially since its a 32". The neck is too narrow though, but fabulous body. Thats the era a began playing in, but i never recall seeing one of those. A forgetten pathway, like the Fender Lead series guitars.

Thanks again
