Cymatic LR-16 or something similar?

I am currently considering the LR-16 as the solution to my situation.

Is there a similar device with more options, a better design or with a better cost to performance ratio out there?

I think I will eventually get an all in one mixer/recorder but having something like the Cymatic LR-16 will tide me over quite nicely in the mean time.

What other devices should I consider?

For better design and more options, you could look to units from JoeCo. It's a stretch to call the budget Cymatic comparable to those, though.
