Double Bass Czech method book

does anyone happen to know the name of the bass method book used by many of the Czech players. Apparently quite a thick method book with lots of horizontal work in various fingerings. I have not come across any info on it as of yet, but have been told many great Czech players used a certain method book

There are several books of etudes by Josef Hrabe, Franz Simandl's teacher. Technically, these are not method books, but rather simple pieces meant for study.

There's also a series of books by Lajos Montag, but those would be Hungarian.

Could be Cerny 'Modern School of Double bass playing' used by the Prague Conservatory (according to Google first published in 1906). Good luck with your search.

Perhaps you could try contacting Dr David Eyes? I think his contact details are at the bottom of the link I quoted. He looks to be planning a concert in September to celebrate Cerny's work. Be great to hear if you manage to get a copy !
