Daily recordings as a way to develop your playing.

this recording was done as an exercise it isn’t meant to be a pro recording
The reason why I am putting it up is because I did something that I never did I played a dual role on the bass line starting off melodically
I have been doing these song fragments usually 10 measure grooves
In fact I do three or four of these each week. What I find I end up utilizing a variety of ideas from simple root fifths to open string utilization triplet insertions

on this track I actually treated the bass line as lead and bass simultaneously starting off with a melodic figure and end it it with a root 7th anchoring.

the best thing that has happened to my musicianship has been these weekly recordings
Not only is my technical bass line writing and performance increasing but my understanding of arrangements and recording techniques are increasing as well.

in time I hope to play live for the full track to develop concentration and mindfulness and remaining present and challenging my editing vs creativity muscles

Recording not only documents your growth as a musician it also gives you to listen to your playing with a more critical ear because you're not in the moment. Keep it up.
Hey yeah it does give you documentation
I find that I am more concerned with the overall product and less about any part

my singing is my weakest instrument. So every instrument is playing second fiddle to my voice for the time being
