Daisy Chaining practice amps?

So I've gotten great suggestions so far for amps but as I won't have the money for anything until October, I figured I should continue with some research.

I was thinking however, how would, say, 4 practice amps daisy chained together sound? I know the ampeg ba-108's have a line out that would make the whole operation very easy.

If they also had an effects return or poweramp in. You could rig it in the inputs, wouldn't be the first time it's been done.. Makes for touchy volume knobs all down the chain. Really should do it the right way.

Are you seriously considering buying four $100 amps instead of one $450 amp? (the extra $50 is for cables)

Seems to me like he already has 4 practice amps. I'd hope anyways.

If not, you can buy a decent sized combo for $300... that's what I paid for my Acoustic B200, new.

Reminds me of some Cheap Trick shows I saw in the '70s.
Big piles of little tube amps like Fender Champs and Princetons running hot on the edge of disaster--sounded great on the guitars.

You'll find that it's a big pain in the butt and difficult to control without a tech.
Just get a good amp with an XLR output for us friendly sound engineers.

I SOO did that back in High School!! Lol, yes two Crate80s daisy-chained together! Worked alright for me when I didn't have much cash! (Most of that was spent on gas and car parts!) Of course that was two 15" combos. I don't know what four Ampeg 108 combo's would be like.

I don't currently have 4 of those amps no. I'll definitely look into the b200. The daisy chaining curiosity remains though. I have a 1x15 ibanez soundwave 100 and a peavy 158 practice bass amp, what if i bought 1 ampeg ba 108 and then 2 of the amps would have line outs and i could string all 3 together.

That would be a pretty bad idea, also, 4 little practice amps still wouldn't keep up with 1 average guitar combo, as well it would be a major hassle to move and maintain.

Just get 1 amp like a normal person.

+1 I would abandon this idea, and focus on getting ONE bass rig to cover your needs.

Why not find a cheap practice amp with a line out and a used rack power amp? If you already have the practice amp the better. You get EQ taken care of by the practice amp and your watts from the power amp.

You should be able to get a few hundred watts for $100 if you shop around. Add $100 for a cab and you can gig for $300 or so, though you will need some extra cables.
