I was browsing a forum regarding an audition for a prominent position in a major symphony, when I came upon an entry from a member of the orchestra having the audition.
"If I can ask, Please do not publish the names of who or whomever you think, or heard advanced... This is still supposed to be NOT public info,, so please respect our process. We really DO NOT want to know who is who, to keep the system fair...

Fair enough, though aside from a few known exceptions most orchestras will remove the screen for a final round. Given that the final in this case is several weeks after the other rounds, anyone on the panel that wanted to know the finalists would have little trouble finding out and ample time to do so.
