Dan Smith Era Fender collectors?

I've become extremely interested not only in the history of Fender in general (I'm currently reading "How the Fender Bass Changed the World" and have a copy of "Sound Heard round the World" on its way) but the "Dan Smith era" which I suppose would be '81 and on. Certainly the era after the sale back to the employees from '85 to today.
Is there much of an interest in this era for you guys?

The "Fullerton" reissues certainly have a big following, and vintage dealers trying to cash in $$$$.

The Precision Specials also fall into this era. And quite a few players that seek the Elite 1 and Elite 2.

Dan Smith was also responsible for the first issue standard range launched in 1982 . My all time favourite happens to be from this year featuring the classic ‘Fullerton curve’ , white controls, pickups, guard (sans thumb rest) , chrome hardware ,slim maple neck and pearl blocks still makes for a very clean contemporary looking Jazz even 44 years later.
