Dark glass micro tubes 900 v1 or v2

Hello all,

I’m Looking at building a rig with a Darkglass head over the next few weeks. I’ve been watching and listening to reviews of their 2 different products and have landed on the Microtubes 900 head.

All of the gear I’ve bought in the last few years has been used and it’s worked out for me well, but it’s exclusive been new basses, p/us, preamps, etc. I can get the v1 for 700ish bucks and save almost 400 bucks from buying it vs a new v2. I know the differences between the two, but the only thing I’ll really miss is maybe the cab sim?

Anyone own either one of these amps that have a strong opinion on this? Like if you owned the v1 and could trade it and pay 400 bucks for the v2 would you? If you could trade your v2 in for a v1 and get 400 bucks would you?

What do you all think? Thanks!

**also before someone asks, I don’t have access to play it before I buy either one. Gonna have to buy it blind**

I can't comment on the V2, but I have the V1 after having tried with my band (it's been less than a year and a half, and it's my first band in my life) a Hartke LH500 and a Gallien Krueger MB 500 Fusion... my guitarists have told me that I don't need to look any further, that it sounds tremendous!!!! I have it paired with a GK 2x12 MBE600 and a MusicMan 600 2x12, with a SquiFender with EMG Geezer Butler and D'Addario Chromes and we play HARD ROCK !!!! I just have to reach mediocrity playing the bass...:banghead::bassist:

I ended up buying the V1. When I tested it out I absolutely loved it. Now looking for the right cab. I tried out a GK 410 Neo today but didn't quite seem right. Checking out a Fender Bassman Neo 410 tomorrow. Would love recommendations on good 2x12 (or 10) cabs. Seems like that might be the move, but there aren't any in my area to test out so I'd have to buy without trying.
