Hello fellow bass players,
I have decided to part with my lovely Orange AD200B Mk III, OBC410 & OBC115 to try something completely different. I have already settled on the Darkglass Microtubes 900 to replace my amplifier, but I am having a tough time deciding between the two above mentioned cabinets. Also, as I live in Denmark, I probably won't have the chance to try both cabs up against each other, which is why I would appreciate any input from you guys.
I expect to have sold my Orange stack within the next couple of weeks, so I would love to be clarified as to which I should be going for by then.
Instead of asking which you think would be most suitable for me, I would much rather like to hear what you think of either product. Have you tried either or both, and what did you think? Obviously, Darkglass only just recently announced their cabinets, so chances might be slim as to whether one of you have tried them, let alone compared it to Zilla's.
My personal thought proces is that I can hardly imagine not liking the Darkglass 410 cabinet. My Microtubes B7K is pretty much always on, and I feel I can vouch for a company that specializes in bass gear. However, this comes with fewer speakers and to a higher price tag. It does feature a tweeter though. Regarding Zilla's bass cabinets I only know that ex-Periphery bass player Adam 'Nolly' Getgood used these, but other than that I haven't heard or read much hype about these cabinets from Zilla. Adam Getgood has been a huge influence on my sound though, so Zilla has that vouching for them.
