Darkglass B3k - FROM Effects Boutique

I know there's a lengthy thread on this, but man, this pedal is a lifesaver! After countless run ins with imposters there's a tried and true, easy to use bass overdrive pedal out there for everyone!!.. No need to double up on other effects to try and get the OD tone you're looking for. I've had this thing for four days and I can't stop smiling every time i engage it. From mild to heavy metal raw, skanky grunt - it's all here.

I picked up the last one Rob had from Effects Boutique in San Diego, but don’t worry he has more on the way. He’s also got a great place to demo it if you’re interested. Best $295 I’ve spent on an effect in three years! Seriously, stop trying to get one of those “big” boxes to do it for you. If you’re like me you know you’ve spent 100s buys and selling ODs trying to find nirvana. Look no further.

This is a personal endorsement (because I’m so freaking happy)!

I have just bought one. The demos looked really promising, and in person it's even better :)

Just one thing... I can't hear the Attack switch doing anything. Is it very subtle or maybe mine is faulty?
I have only tested it for about 15 min (it arrived today) and only at home through a practice amp, so I'll test it properly tomorrow... but I really can't hear a difference, using two basses (Jazz and Stingray).

Seriously good tones out of this tiny box. Well worth the price!

Got my B3K! Loving this pedal so much. It really does live up to the hype. Got one question though. With the Grunt switch set to thin I dont notice much going on with the drive and level knobs. Ive turned them all the way clockwise and counter-clockwise and cant hear anything going on. Also the blend has to be almost all the way counter-clockwise to get volume with the thin setting engaged. Is this normal? Thanks

I was going to get the B3K, but then I saw the B7K, I ordered mine from Effects Boutique, I was going to order from BassFx but there was some problem with it deleting your cart when switching from credit card choice to paypal making impossible to order anything.

I've been talking to Rob of Effects Boutique, and the guy is a very cool and nice person. If I want to buy more Darkglass pedals, I'm definately going back to Effects Boutique.

Chad from BassEFX helped me out a lot too though. that sucks that there's that problem with their cart system, but i ordered a pair of things off of his site and one of them showed up in stock even though it was back-ordered. he contacted the company (Source Audio, super nice guys) and he got them to ship it directly to me taking about a week or so off of shipping time.

Got my B7K yesterday (moved up from the B3K)...oh my gods...I thought it coudln't get better than the B3K but the B7K is basically baby jesus, chocolate cake, paul maccartney, and finding 20 dollars in the laundry all rolled into one! So FREAKING awesome!

I've got a B3K and have thought about maybe stepping up to a B7K but since I already have a DI and Pre-Amp, I haven't been sure that it makes sense to get the B7K. Can you elaborate a little more about why you find the B7K to be so much more awesome than the B3K?

Well I didn't have a DI. I use an Ashdown Little Bastard and an Eden 700. I always had problems messing with the knobs on the amps to get the same sound. Now I set them both as flat as possible and use the preamp on the B7K and that solved that problem. The tone off the low/mids/high mids/treble on the B7K are just awesome. Sorry I'm not a tech'y, but does any of that make sense?

Interestingly, I had the exact same problem at Bassefx, on the same day, and chose to order the B7K with Effects Boutique too.
Alas, they were not in stock, but I paid for it anyway, and should see it, in the next batch of arrivals. Both distributors are great folks.
