Darkglass Duality fuzz Demo

I'm in a Stoner/Doom type band and i play double and triple stops all the time with heavy fuzz...lol

that said i would like to hear more before jumping on the Darkglass train again.....i got burned the last time...

I kind of agree with you there. I don't mind the fancy stuff, but some meat and potatoes playing should also be included.

I liked the demo. I don't play that way, but it's really nice to hear how defined and tight the double-stops are, and how the harmonics sound (very good). There's enough "normal" playing in there to hear what that would sound like, plus we hear how this player likes to use the sounds from this fuzz.

Curious as to what you got and why you didn't like it. I jumped in and got the B3K largely on the strength of Nolly's demo, and I was not disappointed. I was so happy I traded up to the B7K, and once again I was not disappointed. The VMT was meh for me, but I got it used as new, so was able to sell it at no loss.

Vintage Micro Tube.....I heard the demo, read all the hype....couldn't for the life of me get a useful sound out of that box no matter how hard i tried...I ended up trading for another pedal plus some cash....

No offense to the players that use that pedal...It just didn't work for me

For me, I could get sounds I liked solo, but with the band, I could barely tell the effect was on. If I cranked it, it got too fuzzy for me. Just a mismatch for the equipment and tones I like. The b7k on the other hand, feels like what I've been seeking for decades. With all my loud rock stuff, it's always on. Expensive, but so worth it.

The fuzz is really calling me, but I don't use fuzz that much. Hmmm... Maybe I should...

I use fuzz ALOT....tried a ton of them...My favorites so far have been the Depth Charge and the Magalith (which is still on my board!! and isn't going anywhere)

currently looking for something with a small foot print.....this might do the trick, but would really like to hear more!

Well something in the demo must be done right because the demo put this fuzz at the tippity top of my list. I do wish I heard more of the left side of the duality knob more though, but the right side sounds kiiillllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeerrrrrr. I will wait to hear another demo before I make my purchasing decision but I am impressed so far. And I'm not a Darkglass fanboy or anything, I had no expectations, I was just patiently waiting to hear what it sounded like, and so far, so good. Just hope more demos come soon!

This is sort of how I felt. I wish there had been a little more "meat and potatoes" playing, and there was just a tad too much talking given it was the clip we've been dying to hear and it was only 7 minutes long total (although I found the talking pretty engaging and useful, I was still like, "JUST PLAY DANG IT!"). But at the same time, I felt the demo was very unique, it showed a lot of different things about the pedal that you don't normally see in a demo.

So yeah...I think this demo probably nicely complements the other ones that will be coming, like what I presume MrExcane has in the works. What I'm really hoping for, though, is a demo like the following of the B7K:

Honestly, I think that is basically the perfect demo in almost every way, not just because it's the B7K and the B7K is magical, but because he covers lots of styles, does mostly straightforward playing, shows you the clean/dirty difference, and shows you a wide range of settings. I would love to see an equivalent demo for the Duality, or really, any dirt pedal out there. Even MrExcane's, as good as they are, kind of blend together for me. There is just something about the demo by Davies that I find so incredibly useful.

I agree.

I do think the current demo vid is well done, but one criticism is he does focus a bit too much on an aspect of the left side of the pedal that most players won't use (the synthy quality and it's odd uses), and then blows through a few quick seconds of the right side of the pedal. A few glorious sounding seconds that made me want more. :)

Would also like to hear the duality knob set at noon to hear what getting some of each fuzz gives you.
