Dating a Genzler Magellan 800

Hi, I just picked up a used M800 and - besides being extremely excited - I'm curious about the MFG date and how old it might be. It looks practically brand new and it plays perfectly. The seller bought it used online and there's not much history behind it.

Can you date a Genzler by its serial number? Of all the "for sale" ads I've seen online, this has the highest S/N, if that means anything. I've Googled about and didn't find any meaningful info regarding S/N and dates.

S/N: 2326000XX

Note: All the posts here regarding this amp have been stellar. My decision was based in no small part on the fact that no one has a single bad thing to say about this amp.

Can’t help you with the date tracking….but just want to say welcome to the family. I’ve had my MG800/BA410 cab for a few years now and have no desire for anything else. I’m sure Jeff Genzler will be along soon to help you out. Come join us in the Genzler club…lots of good info etc. in that thread.

@dgstan Hope you enjoy your new to you amp. Thanks for choosing our gear. The date code shows this amp was built in the 26th week of 2023. With our supply chain it may not have been sold for several months or more. So overall it is not a very old amp.

Thanks so much Mr. Genzler. The amp is amazing so far. Next up is a bass array of some sort.

Good choice. The response from the man himself, is one of the reasons I have the same head. In the very remote chance you have an issue or need service, response and remedy comes quickly.

I have the BA-15 3 cab and love it! Depending on your sonic needs in your situation, there is something in the BA series that will work.
