Talkin' about REALLY derailing a thread...
Well, on topic: While I enjoy Dave Holland's sound more on the older clip, and I think the older bass is much nicer than the czech-ease, but at the same time I understand the difficulties of traveling with a big bass, I think an eternity without dave holland would be somewhat sad. So, either, this is not hell, or Dave Holland is not god. Or something.
At least one thing's for sure: He's good. Quite so very.

Yes, it's cello (I've had his studio recording for many years), but this is the first I've heard of him playing anything from that album live.

Whatever Dave Holland is or isn't, he's sure a helluva lot of deep pleasure to listen to. For some reason, I've always had a soft spot for this tune, and I stumbled across this viddy on youtube thanks to this thread. Some very tasteful playing by some really talented individuals:
