I know it's hard for the family if it truly was Auto-erotic asphyxiation. I had a co-worker that lost a teenager this way.
It's very hard for the family to answer even well meaning questions, b/c the death is usually classified as suicide and obviously these kinds of deaths are very misunderstood.
It's a lesson both to respect the privacy of others, and also to realize the very real danger of AEA and similar activities like the "choking game".
