I was lucky to get to shoot this show in Montreal saturday. David J was one of my first bass influences back in my early teens. Even had a fretless black PBass like him! He was definately in shape for this show! GREAT tone and intonation. SVT rig!

Enjoy the shots:

Who were the other band members? There’s been a reoccurring festival, Cruel World, that I’ve been going to, saw a devastating Bauhaus performance, just killer, two years ago, Love and Rockets last year(again, brilliant), but this year it was Tones On Tail, without him of course, but his niece(drummer Kevin Haskins’ daughter) was remarkable in her own way.

Thanks for posting. David J is one of the greatest bassists and composers of the post punk era/genre. Looks like he's playing Chromes, interesting!

Did you ever see David when he toured with a cellist? In the past few months I’ve gained her acquaintance; Joyce lives in my general area, and is also a fantastic glass artist. She’s involved in a number of local(Coachella Valley)music projects, and I managed to fix up this Rickenbacker 4001 that someone had simply given her…it had a badly ski-sloped neck and just need some love in general. I cautiously got the neck adjusted(never dealt with a Ric before)and cleaned it up.

No I have not been so lucky!
