So, I'm on a business trip here in FL, found a blues jam last night, and the guy who came up after me, everyone was calling him Pastorius. And I could see why, the guy is a monster, playing more notes in 2 songs than I've played in the last month or so, pulling off everything he tries with skill and grace, excellent timing, and relatively soulful (tough to pull a whole lot of emotion with that much flurry). Thankfully he went after me, I'd have hated to have followed him.
Anyway, complimented him afterwards, turns out he's Jaco's nephew David. Super player, phenomenally talented, and very nice guy as well - he even lied and complimented my playing. I'll get to see him with his band later this week.
