Apologies if this has been covered before.
I have a Soundcraft Ui16, which does the job. I like to have backup options and this is something I've experimented with but not tried in anger: using a USB interface and then a DAW to control things like compression, reverb, feedback suppression, EQ. Has anyone tried this?
I currently have
* TASCAM US-2000 which is Windows only (I'd rather use Linux but bought in error instead of the 16x04) which is very flexible on I/O
* Zoom R16 that I use with the Ui16 anyway just for the hardware fader control (arguably, there are better options with more control). Fewer ins and only two outs - L mono FOH and R mono monitor. If remote on stage I would have to give up the hardware fader control.
Has anyone tried a DAW and interface fit live?
I use REAPER.
