DC Brick and blue LEDs

I've seen a few pedalboard pics on here that had Dunlop Bricks with blue LEDs as opposed to mine which has a red. Is there any difference between the two?

Yes. The blue lights are definitely better. Cleaner power, fewer transients.

it's true... tests have proven that blue LEDs give you a 200% tone improvement. more pleasant highs, fuller lows and thicker mids.

Don't forget to mention: chicks love dudes with blue leds, the more the better

Guys, you've got it all wrong! You need different colors for different modes:

• Blue for mixolydian
• Red for locrian
• Green for ionian
• Yellow for aeolian
• Amber for dorian
• Pink for lydian
• White for phrygian

So how would I go about changing mine?

0. Disassemble brick
1. Get a blue LED of the same dimensions as the red.
2. Desolder red LED, observing orientation
3. Solder in blue LED, maintaining orientation
4. Assemble brick

Now, blue and red leds have different forward voltage, so you will get different current, and probably different intensity.

which is why you wire in a resistor in series with the LED
