Dean European Custom Select - Improv 4

I picked this bass up through craigslist for a great price and am really astounded by the quality of this beauty! I never thought of Dean as a high end brand, but this bass is really wonderfully crafted. Apparently this was made by the same factory as Spector, and it even has a Spector Badass locking bridge. From my research it is a 1999 Improv 4, with EMG CS pickups, a wenge fretboard, and a brass nut, which sounds incredible on the open notes! It came setup with flatwounds and high action, so a set of NYXL's are on the way and a recondition and setup is in order!

This post is mainly just to share my appreciation for beautiful instruments and also to see if there are any cases out there that are a perfect fit for this bass, as my research has yielded no result!

Best kept secret out there
Czech made in late 90’s same location as certain model Spector basses

I own two and @NicJimBass owns a few 5 strings

I might be wrong but I think @Templar had one too?

Instrument alley sells Dean Edge cases at a discount. They fit this bass.

The price on these keeps going up
I got 2 last year for $230 and free shipping

Not the case now but still cheapest price I’ve seen

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Even cheaper if you register and shipping is/was free if total is over $200

Thanks for that info, I definitely want to protect this bass, even though it has some "beauty marks" already. What do you think would be more protective: a Gator case that is customized to conform to the body or the Dean Edge case?
The Gator case should work fine. The Dean Edge case will also work.
My OCD would make me lean towards the Dean case, but if you don’t suffer from that affliction the Gator case will be fine ;)
